BP Bruce Phase 2 CR Topsides Detailed Design
Working as senior structural engineer I was responsible for the brownfield topside modifications on existing Drilling platform and the P60 bridge to allow for tie back of the new CR platform that was to be installed.
I carried out offshore platform surveys to determine feasibility of proposed modifications. The survey also revealed worn out PTFE bridge bearing pads due to dirt ingress. Therefore I was tasked to perform a deterministic fatigue assessment of P60 bridge for increased stress loading and the bearing pad replacement. I also designed the pipe rack with pre-installed piping to be lifted by platform crane which had limited capacity.
My final work involved the design of bridge landing area and the bridge pin for the bridge to the new CR platform.
